![]() ![]() ![]() For the rest of the decade she continued to work relentlessly, and in 1997, she got the role that would garner her first New York Times review, Hyacinth in Moliere's “Scapin”. Throughout her time in college she also performed in a lot of regional theatre, building up a vast portfolio of work that meant that when she auditioned for her first professional role in 1993, she won the part. Those experiences gave her a passion for performing that only got stronger as she got older, and all throughout her school career she participated in as many school plays as she could, and when she reached college age, she attended Oklahoma City to complete a degree in musical theatre in 1990. Like many musical folks that hail from the southern states of America, Kristin Chenoweth's earliest forays into music came while performing gospel songs at her local church gatherings in her home town of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. ![]()
